MANILA, Philippines – A great scorer with a "unique style" is how Cleveland Cavaliers rookie Collin Sexton described his teammate, Jordan Clarkson.

Sexton, who is in town for the Jr. NBA National Training Camp, had nothing but praise for Clarkson, who played his first full season for Cleveland after being traded during the 2017-18 season.

"Jordan, he has a unique style," said the 20-year-old Sexton. "He dresses pretty crazy, but he has a nice flavor off the court."

On the court, however, Clarkson is all business.

"He's a great scorer, a great teammate, great player. I'm glad to have him as a teammate my past year," said Sexton.

Clarkson played 81 games for the Cavaliers this year, averaging 16.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game while coming off the bench.

Sexton hailed Clarkson's willingness to embrace his role as Cleveland's sixth man.

"He's one of those players, the sixth man, (who) just comes off the bench, and bring that energy each and every night. We know exactly what he's gonna bring," he said.

"He's never gonna let us down. The times that he does is not often, because next game he's gonna show and prove (himself)," Sexton added. "It's great to have him."

While Sexton, Clarkson and the Cavaliers had little success this year – they won just 19 games – the rookie guard is excited for what they can achieve next season.

"Can't wait for this upcoming season," he said.

Sexton is also hopeful that he can one day achieve what Clarkson did in August 2018, which is to play for the national team. The Filipino-American got a special exemption to suit up for the Philippines in the Asian Games, and led them to fifth place.

"There's nothing like representing your country. Just have your country on your chest and your name on the back. Just going out there and playing for your country," said Sexton.

"You're not just playing for your teammates, you're playing for millions of people. It's a different feeling," he added.
