World junior bantamweight champion Jerwin Ancajas got a warm hero's welcome from the Philippine Navy and his fans when he arrived in the country, a week after his successful title defense.
Ancajas, a naval Chief Petty Officer, arrived on Tuesday at the NAIA, where he was greeted by the navy band.
On hand to welcome him were his wife, Ruth, and their 3 children.
Ancajas defended his IBF junior bantamweight crown by stopping Ryuichi Funai of Japan in 7 rounds in Stockton, Calif., last week.
The Panabo City, Davao del Norte native is looking forward to unifying his title against WBA champion Juan Francisco Estrada.
