(UPDATE) San Miguel Beer center June Mar Fajardo appeared collected post-game after being involved in a fan’s stunt at Araneta Coliseum on Friday.

A man stormed the playing floor late in Game 5 of the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup finals, and as he dashed across the hard court he crashed into Fajardo.

Fajardo was hit in the jaw before dropping to the floor. It took a few minutes for Fajardo to gather himself and get back on his feet.

The man was corralled by coliseum security and taken to a nearby police station.

“Nagulat lang ako,” Fajardo acknowledged. “Hindi naman natin ini-expect na mangyayari ’yun. Siguro nagpapapansin lang ’yun.”

If the suspect wanted some attention, Fajardo said, “Maling way naman ’yun. ’Yun nakuyog siya tuloy.”

The 5-time league MVP said fans need to learn from the incident.

“ ’Wag niyong tularan ’yun. Mali ’yung way niya. Sana di na maulit,” Fajardo said.

“Delikado ’yung ginawa niya. (Baka) may ma-injure siya na mga players . . . Siya (baka) ma-injure siya. Buti na lang walang na-injury sa ginawa niya.”

Arwind Santos, Fajardo’s teammate, said the incident caught him off guard.

“Minsan talaga may mga taong hindi natin naiisip kung ano ’yung mga iniisip nila, bigla na lang nila gagawin. Wala silang pakialam kung makakasira sila ng ganitong klaseng event,” Santos said.
