Former ONE flyweight champion Geje Eustaquio knows he will need to execute his game plan perfectly when he meets Kim Kyu Sung in Singapore on May 17.
The Korean stands 6-feet tall, therefore striking distance will be crucial for Eustaquio.
“This week is all about game-planning and focusing on the smart side of fighting,” the Team Lakay fighter said. “(Kim) is a good striker. We have to play the distance well if we want to win.”
Eustaquio last fought 4 months ago, when he lost the flyweight belt to Adriano Moraes. Immediately after the defeat, he and his team went back to the drawing board to reassess his performance.
“We all make good in all the aspects of my martial arts. Whether striking or ground,” he said. “My main job is to get better and better and compete.”
He also wants to be ready when an opportunity arises.
Eustaquio and Kim will square off in an alternate bout of ONE’s flyweight tournament.
