MANILA, Philippines—The Petro Gazz Angels were short-handed on Wednesday as Estonian import Kadi Kullerkann sat out their game against Tacloban with a minor injury.
The 6-foot-4 Kullerkann sustained a minor injury to her left knee during practice, resulting in swelling.
"Bugbog 'yung tuhod," Petro Gazz coach Jerry Yee said of the injury. "May pamamaga, so 'di na lang namin ni-risk."
"Five-day rest ang recommendation ng doctor, 5-day rest and therapy," he added.
Kullerkann had a quiet debut for Petro Gazz in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference, scoring 11 points in a straight-sets loss to Creamline last Sunday.
Without her, the Angels were beaten by Tacloban in five sets, 17-25, 25-27, 25-21, 25-14, 13-15.
Yee is hoping that Kullerkann can recover in time to play against BaliPure next Wednesday.
Ukrainian import Anastasia Trach led Petro Gazz in scoring against Tacloban, with 27 points.
