But the Pinoy world champ says he will miss the crowd

World junior bantamweight king Jerwin Ancajas was elated to hear that promoter Top Rank will begin holding fight cards again in June.

Although Bob Arum has yet to give him an official fight date with opponent Jonathan Rodriguez of Mexico, Ancajas said he expects the fight originally scheduled on April 12 will push through.

Ancajas, however, acknowledged that it might feel strange to be swapping punches against his opponent in a closed-door setting.

"Iba talaga 'pag may maraming manonood at sumisigaw," Ancajas said in an interview with ABS-CBN News about the possibility of performing in an empty stadium over COVID-19 concerns.

"Masaya ako noong nalaman kong maaaring may laban na sa June kasi matagal-tagal na rin po akong hndi nakakalaban," he said. "Excited na po ulit maka laban."

Ancajas said true fight fans will find a way to watch the match.
