MANILA, Philippines—For the first time in UAAP Season 81, Ateneo coach Oliver Almadro begged off interviews with the media.

This, after the top-seeded Lady Eagles suffered a stunning 5-set loss to Far Eastern University in the Final 4 at Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.

Ateneo failed to sustain a hot start, falling behind 1-2 then faltering down the stretch of the final set. The Lady Tamaraws, who entered the match with their backs against the wall, claimed a 10-25, 25-23, 25-22, 12-25, 15-8 triumph to force a do-or-die game for a spot in the finals.

Afterward, Almadro politely turned down requests for an interview, though he assured that he was still confident in his team.

"I still have no doubts," he said, confirming that the Lady Eagles are all fine following the tough defeat.

They play again on Wednesday, this time in a do-or-die with the winner advancing to the best-of-3 finals.
