PBA superstar Jayson Castro is a living proof that it’s never too late to finish one's studies.
The 29-year-old Tropang TNT Texter has finally got his diploma years after leaving college for professional basketball.
Castro was one of Philippine Christian University’s (PCU) biggest stars in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the early 2000’s.
But when PCU was suspended from the NCAA due to irregularities in its high school team, he joined the now defunct Philippine Basketball League, before enlisting in the 2008 PBA Rookie Draft.
Castro is now playing his eighth season in the PBA.
“Yung family ko saka yung girlfriend ko ang laging nagre-remind sa akin, sinasabi nila, ‘kelan ka magtatapos?’” Castro said in Richard Dy’s report to FOX Sports.
“Every time naguusap kami nila boss MVP, ine-encourage niya kami na magtayo ng business namin kasi ang laging tanong after ng basketball (career), what’s next? Kaya ngayon pa lang, nagiisip na talaga ako,” he added.
