MANILA, Philippines – The Clash of Heroes, a volleyball event meant to solicit support for the men's and women's national teams, have been postponed to give way to the upcoming UAAP Season 79 Finals, organizers announced on Tuesday.

The event was originally scheduled for April 28 at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan, but has now been moved to a later date, according to the PSC-POC Media Group and the Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc.

The organizers said the event will now be held "probably on the second week of May, or as soon as the UAAP champion has been crowned."

Defending champions De La Salle University and Ateneo de Manila University are contesting the UAAP women's crown for the sixth consecutive season.

"This will give both Ateneo and La Salle players a golden chance to see action, and more fans to witness the first public appearance of the national men's and women's pool," organizers said.

"On the same note, we are still finalizing the live coverage of the event. Tickets previously purchased will still be honored. The final schedule will be announced as soon as possible," they added.

Former Ateneo superstar Alyssa Valdez, 2016 Miss Volleyball Mika Reyes, and former Far Eastern University standout Rachel Anne Daquis were expected to banner the event, which was organized for the benefit of the national teams' training in Japan and South Korea next month.
