Ceres-Negros shocked Persija Jakarta with a come-from-behind 3-2 win in the AFC Cup in front of a hostile crowd at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta.
Despite being down 2-0, the Busmen rallied late in the match and unloaded 3 goals to stun the host team.
Mike Ott punctuated Ceres’ astonishing comeback in the 92nd minute with a strike just inside the box following a pair of goals from Bienve Maranon and Miguel Tanton.
Ceres is now at the top of Group G with 5 points, followed by Becamex Binh Duong of Vietnam.
Persija, on the other hand, saw its chances of making the knockout stage of the competition jeopardized. They must claim all three points against Myanmar’s Shan United to remain in contention for second place in the ASEAN Zone.
