MANILA – Barangay Ginebra will put its winning streak on the line against an equally red-hot TNT squad in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.

The Ginebra-TNT game is at 6:45 p.m., after Mahindra and GlobalPort, 2 teams at the bottom of the standings, raise the curtain at 4:30 p.m.

Ginebra had to grind it out in the second half before securing a 101-92 win against NLEX on Wednesday, its 3rd straight victory.

Less than 48 hours ago on Friday, TNT picked up its 5th win in a row when it demolished GlobalPort.

Ginebra coach Tim Cone said his team will have to find its groove early in the game to avoid playing catch-up especially against a championship-caliber team such as TNT.

“I'd like to see that we get defensively focused in the start of basketball games. It seems that we're taking a little bit time to get our rhythm, but once we get it, we're really tough,” said Cone after Ginebra beat NLEX. “So we just have to keep on playing until we find our rhythm.”

Ginebra's local players seem to feed off Justin Brownlee's energy.

When Brownlee performed well, the locals responded positively. Brownlee finished with 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds against NLEX, while Joe Devance and Japeth Aguilar added 18 and 17 points, respectively.

“When Justin gets it going, gets his rhythm, we all seem to find our rhythm,” said Cone.

TNT coach Nash Racela said his team wants to keep its momentum going before heading to the All-Star break.

“That's the hope that we have, to try to get as many wins,” he said.
