After 4 Filipinos qualified for the Round of 16, only one remains standing in the finals of the inaugural WPA Players Championship at Griff Billiards in Las Vegas, Nevada.

2017 World 9 Ball champion Carlo Biado survived a rough semifinal match against Taiwan's Chang Yu Lung.

Chang trailed Biado 6-3 but the Filipino made some costly errors in the ninth rack that let the Taiwanese cut the lead to 5-4.

From there Biado was able to capitalize on Chang's mistakes and eventually win 9-6 and qualify for the finals.

Biado is currently squaring off against Taiwan's Kevin Cheng who beat Filipino Jonathan Chua in the other semis pairing.

Before making it to Round of 16, the world number 3 ranked Biado took down another Taiwanese, Yang Ching Shun, 8-6.

Then he met the USA’s Shane Van Boening in the quarterfinals, beating the American with a convincing 7-4 win.
