The Davao Occidental Tigers—Cocolife turned back the San Juan Knights—Go for Gold in Game 2 of their national finals to level their best-of-5 series in the Maharlika Basketball League-Anta Datu Cup.
The Tigers won 67-60 over the Knights at Davao City Recreation Center to make it 1-1 in their title joust on Saturday.
Mark Yee paced the Tigers with a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds. Billy Ray Robles added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists.
Yee, who played in the PBA for 10 years, orchestrated a 5-0 run to give Davao Occidental a 37-29 halftime advantage.
Meanwhile, it was Robles who closed out the Knights with a pair of baskets and a free throw.
Mike Ayonayon led San Juan with 17 points.
John Wilson and Mac Cardona, who played crucial roles in their Game 1 win, finished with 4 and 8 points, respectively.
Action will resume at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan on Tuesday.
