Pinay boxer loses in Holyfield-Botha undercard

MANILA, Philippines – Filipino-American boxer Crystal Hoy lost to American Jennifer Han in the undercard of “The Legend Returns,” which featured Evander Holyfield and Francois Botha, on Saturday (Sunday in Manila) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to, Hoy lost to Han by unanimous decision after 4 rounds. The judges, Richard Ocasio, Paul Smith and Duane Ford, all scored 40-36 in favor of Han.

The 29-year-old Fil-Am fighter now has 3 wins (with 2 knockouts), 2 losses and 2 draws.

Han, meantime, scored her first career win. She now has a win-loss card of 1-1-1.

“The Legend Returns,” which was headlined by Holyfield and Botha, was held at the Thomas & Mack Center.

American Holyfield scored an 8th round technical knockout victory over South African Botha to claim the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) heavyweight title.

Holyfied improved his record to 43-10-2 (with 28 KOs) record while Botha fell to 47-5-3 (with 28 KOs). - With a report from Agence France-Presse
