Erica Wilson and Ana Artemeva wreaked havoc on offense, as Cignal beat United Volleyball Club, 25-22, 18-25, 25-21, 25-20, Tuesday night to advance to the semifinals of the 2019 Philippine Superliga Grand Prix.

Wilson scored 25 points off 21 attacks, two aces and two kill blocks at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan, while Artemeva recorded 18 points built on 13 spikes and five kill blocks for the HD Spikers, who will take on unbeaten defending champion Petron in the best-of-three semifinals.

Mylene Paat and Rachel Anne Daquis finished with nine and six points, respectively, and delivered Cignal’s last two points of the match.

Kalei Mau and Yaasmeen Bedart-Ghani tallied 20 points each, while Sutadta Chuewulim, who just replaced Tai Manu-Olevao, ended her one-game stint with 14.

Meanwhile, Generika-Ayala hung tough down the stretch to eke out a 21-25, 25-22, 25-22, 26-24 win over PLDT Home Fibr to force a sudden death in their quarterfinal series.

Kseniya Kocyigit delivered the crucial blows for the Lifesavers.

The Azerbaijani player delivered the quick attack that forced a deuce before skipper Angeli Araneta nailed back-to-back aces to seal the victory.

Kanjana Kuthaisong led the charge with 17 points while Araneta put up 10 attacks and four aces for a 14-hit effort for Generika-Ayala, which finished the double-round classification phase at the sixth spot.

"Since our two classification matches against PLDT ended up in five sets, our mindset is just to double the effort and luckily we got the breaks of the game,” said Generika-Ayala coach Sherwin Meneses, whose team will face the winner between F2 Logistics and Foton in the best-of-three semifinals.

The Cargo Movers and the Tornadoes dispute the semis berth on Thursday.

Kendra Dahlke had 23 points while Grace Lazard scored 15 points for the Power Hitters, who also drew impressive numbers from Aiko Urdas and Gretchel Soltones, but surrendered to the strong service game of the Lifesavers down the stretch.
