MANILA- Far Eastern University bounced back from its first loss of UAAP Season 81 by defeating University of Santo Tomas in four sets, Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Tamaraws pounced on another error-strewn performance by UST, in taking a 25-15, 26-28, 25-22, 25-14 triumph over the Tiger Spikers.

The one-hour, 51-minute win allowed FEU to bounce back from last week's loss to Ateneo, and they improved to 8-1 in the men's volleyball tournament. They are also assured of at least a playoff for a spot in the Final 4.

As it stands, the Tamaraws are half-a-game behind defending champion National University (9-1) in the league standings. The Bulldogs are already through to the semifinals.

JP Bugaoan led the Tams with 17 points, including 3 blocks, while Judge Garcia had 17 points on 13 kills and 4 blocks. The Tamaraws put up 51 attack points against the Tiger Spikers.

UST continues its free-fall, having now lost four consecutive matches. They also gave away 39 free points to FEU off their errors.

Meanwhile, De La Salle University remains in the hunt for a Final 4 spot after making quick work of University of the East, 25-21, 25-22, 29-27.

Cris Dumago scored 12 points, and John Delos Reyes added 10 markers as the Green Spikers improved to 4-6 in the tournament.

La Salle is currently in fifth place, just behind Adamson University (5-4).

No player reached double-digits for the Red Warriors, who dropped to 2-8 in the tournament.
