After being given a free ride to second seed in the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals, Rain or Shine has gifted pancit to NorthPort as a token of gratitude.
NorthPort defeated TNT KaTropa, 109-83, foiling the Texters’ bid to get a spot in the top 2 which guarantees a twice-to-beat advantage in the playoffs.
As a result, both TNT and Barangay Ginebra were out of the race for the top 2, giving Rain or Shine the twice-to-beat bonus.
Without identifying anyone, NorthPort coach Pido Jarencio was quoted as saying the Batang Pier would love to get some food from any team that would benefit from their victory over TNT.
“Eh kung nabigyan naman sila ng free ticket para maging number one or number two, kung sino man team ‘yun, magpadala na lang ng pagkain sa practice bukas. Ganun lang ‘yun,” said Jarencio in Spin.ph.
Rain or Shine owners Raymond Yu and Terry Que obliged. They had pancit delivered to NorthPort’s practice on Tuesday.
“Hope it will not be interpreted in a different way. We have read what coach Pido wants so we obliged,” said Yu. “Sabi kasi pagkain so naisip ko pansit.”
