MANILA, Philippines – For the fourth season in a row, University of Santo Tomas (UST) and Adamson University will battle in the finals of the UAAP softball tournament.
The Tigresses completed a reversal of twice-to-beat De La Salle University, 9-2, on Monday at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium to arrange a finals showdown with the Lady Falcons in Season 81.
Behind Celyn Ojare, the Tigresses overcame a 0-2 start to advance in the best-of-three championship.
This is UST's fourth chance to end one of the league's most enduring dynasties.
The Lady Falcons and the Tigresses will face off starting at 8:30 a.m. on Friday at the same Malate venue.
UST, which scored a 12-6 win in last Saturday's opener that forced the Final Four decider, has lost its last three finals duels with Adamson.
The Lady Falcons are gunning for their ninth consecutive championship.
The top-seeded Lady Falcons advanced to the championship series after a 2-1 victory over fourth-seeded National University.
