Filipino boxer Reymart Gaballo joined Jerwin Ancajas and Donnie Nietes on the list of current Filipino boxing champions by outclassing American Stephon Young to win the interim WBA bantamweight crown.
Gaballo beat Young via a unanimous decision in their 12-round fight that took place at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida Saturday morning (Manila time), according to a Philboxing report.
The judges scored the fight 117-110, 117-110, 118-109 -- all in favor of the hard-hitting Gaballo.
It was his third international fight since winning back-to-back against Ernesto Guerrero in Hawaii and Ulises Rivero in Mexico.
The 21-year-old, who hails from General Santos City, now has a perfect record of 19 wins with 16 knockouts.
