Kiefer Ravena scored 20 points, and NLEX used a blistering start coming out of halftime to beat Magnolia 91-79 and tie their semifinals series at 2-2 in the PBA Philippine Cup at Mall of Asia Arena on Friday.
NLEX used a 14-0 run to go up 55-39 in the third quarter, and didn't allow Magnolia to score a field goal for a little more than 7 minutes to take a firm hold of the game.
Magnolia couldn't come closer than 7 points.
"We felt that urgency tonight and the boys stepped up," NLEX coach Yeng Guiao said.
"Paminsan-minsan kami naman ang suswertehin. There's bit of luck on our side. Our shots went in just like their shots went in in Game 3."
Forty-eight hours after allowing Magnolia to shoot more than 50% from the floor in Game 3, it was NLEX's turn to get its offense going, as the Road Warriors shot 36 of 68 from the field for 52%.
Magnolia struggled this time, making only 36% of its shots (28 of 76).
Game 5 is at Ynares Center in Antipolo city on Sunday.
"Ang objective naman namin dito is just to stretch he series for as long as we can," Guiao said.
"Pahabain lang namin nang pahabain. 'Pag dumating ng Game 7 'to baka makatsamba kami ru'n, maungusan namin sila."
JR Quiñahan added 14 points, 11 of which came in the third. Kevin Alas added 13 points.
After combining for 66 points in Game 3, Ian Sangalang (15 points), Jio Jalalon (10) and Rome dela Rosa (9) ended up with 34 points.
