MANILA, Philippines – San Beda University and Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) denied University of Perpetual Help's triple crown bid, instead achieving back-to-back titles in their respective divisions of the NCAA Season 94 beach volleyball tournament.

The Altas were eyeing a triple crown after seeing their juniors, men's, and women's teams advance to the finals of every division.

The Junior Altas got the ball rolling for Perpetual Help, as Noel Michael Kampton, Hero Austria and Luis Gamban edged Colegio de San Juan de Letran, 19-21, 21-12, 15-7, to claim the title.

Unfortunately for Perpetual Help, their men's and women's teams were foiled.

Twins Ella and Nieza Viray of San Beda overcame a pair of early forfeiture losses after wearing wrong uniforms, then swept their remaining seven assignments to advance to the finals.

There, they overpowered Perpetual's rookie tandem of Dana Persa and Deana Estanislao, 21-11, 21-15, for their second straight crown.

The Virays, who are both taking up Bachelor of Physical Education major in Sports, vowed to graduate next year with a three-peat feat.

"We'll go for it before we graduate next year," said Nieza.

EAC's Joshua Pitogo and Joshua Mina likewise booked a second straight men's crown after turning back Gilbert Ghill Balmores and Jay Jay Solamillo of Perpetual in a nail-biting 21-19, 17-21, 15-13 win.
