MANILA, Philippines – Reigning Rookie of the Year Milena Alessandrini of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) will miss at least two weeks after suffering an injury to her left knee, the Varsitarian reported on Monday morning.
Alessandrini was stretchered out of the Araneta Coliseum court in the second set of their UAAP Season 81 game against Far Eastern University last Saturday, following a bad fall that saw her left knee bend at an awkward angle.
The Lady Tamaraws went on to win in four sets, as Alessandrini was rushed to the UST Hospital for an MRI.
According to the Varsitarian, the Fil-Italian spiker suffered a partial ACL tear and will miss at least two weeks of action.
Alessandrini had scored five points before suffering the injury. She was averaging 15.5 points per game for the Tigresses heading into last Saturday's game.
