Manny Pacquiao confirmed that he plans to climb back into the boxing ring this coming July.
The fighting senator hasn't fought since he defeated Keith Thurman for the WBA "super" welterweight title July last year.
"My plan is to get back into the ring this coming July," he said in an interview on ANC's "Game Time." "Training should star in April, May, June. We have enough time."
Pacquiao said he has several potential foes in mind.
"There's a lot of possible opponents like Mikey Garcia, Errol Spence or (Terence) Crawford and also there's boxer from Canada and Mexico who want to fight with me," he said.
But he has top 2 choices.
"That's Errol Spence and Mikey Garcia," said Pacquiao.
Garcia just beat Jessie Vargas via unanimous decision on the strength of a fifth round knockdown while Spence, the IBF champion, is back in training after recovering from a car crash.
"My assessment is Spence is the kind of boxer who can move, slug. If we're going to fight I need to focus on strategy, hand speed, footwork," said Pacquiao.
"Garcia has a different style than Errol Spence. Mikey Garcia is a brawler, aggressive. He's got different techniques also, so we need to practice and apply on that fight."
