Sailing: Villena takes home championship at Subic Bay Regatta Cup

The Philippine Sailing Association (PSA) team has locked up the championship in the FarEast 28R class with 2 more races to go in the Subic Bay Regatta Cup at the freeport zone in Subic Bay.

"Villena," a former 470 dinghy champion helmed by Emerson Villena, has won all 6 races so far, firming up its grip on the title. 

The PSA team has 5 total points with 1 drop, according to event administrator Zed Avecilla. 

On the other hand, Alan Chua’s Centennial II and Bernice Foo’s Singapore Sailing—Singapore Maritime University are in a tight battle. Centennial II has 13 points, while Singapore Sailing has 14. 

Team Japan, skippered by Yukie Ikawa, and Sean Michell’s Subic Sailing are tied with 20 points each after six races and sit fourth to fifth places, respectively.
