Cruz, playing for the first time for Guam, shot just 2-of-8 from the field on top of 5 assists and 4 rebounds. He also had 4 turnovers.
Guam took a 24-22 lead after the first frame, but the visitors seized control of the contest with a 34-point second quarter.
New Zealand's lead ballooned to 28, 102-74, with 6:06 to play off a Taylor Britt jumper.
Shea Ili led New Zealand with 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists. They now have a 2-0 record in Group C, having beaten Australia 109-98 last Thursday.
Guam was led by Earnest Ross Jr.'s 21 points and 6 rebounds, while Curtis Washington had 19 points and 10 boards.
Cruz and co. have a 0-1 record in Group A.
