The title unification bout against Japanese titlist Naoya Inoue should serve as John Riel Casimero's springboard to boxing stardom, according to boxing analyst Dennis Principe.
Although Casimero is already a 3-division champion, he has yet to get the recognition he is craving.
Which is why Principe believes Casimero should make the most out of his opportunity against Inoue.
"This is his chance na finally na matagal na niyang hinahangad na makilala siya, not only as a world champion but a superstar champion. Ito na ang opportunity ni Casimero," Principe said.
The fight takes place on April 25 in Las Vegas.
Casimero is confident he will be unify his WBO world bantamweight crown with Inoue's WBA (Super), IBF and The Ring titles.
He was even quoted as saying that he's the real "Monster," not Inoue.
Principe said it is OK to be confident, but cautioned the Filipino from overdoing it especially against a dangerous fighter such as Inoue.
"For the first time nagta-trash talk na si Casimero lately and knowing him personally, medyo nagulat ako," he said.
"I just hope na hindi ito ’yung case na nagkakaroon ng sobrang confidence, because you need just enough confidence against Inoue.
"I really believe that (Inoue) is the ultimate king of this division so on the part of Casimero, he should take this opportunity to claim yung kingdom na ito."
