MANILA, Philippines – While Timothy Bradley considers Manny Pacquiao a special fighter, he said the 8-division champion from the Philippines is still human.
Bradley said Pacquiao is very good at using angles. He said such capability makes the Filipino superstar a very formidable foe.
“I'm [going to] tell you what makes Manny Pacquiao very, very special. Manny Pacquiao punches from the weirdest angles... shots you don't see, alright,” Bradley said in Fight Hype.
“He's here, he's there, he's underneath here, his body shots, so, and when he feints you, he wants you to cover up… Then as soon as you drop a feint and you put your hands up, he'll run those combinations off of you; then spin around you, side step you, run those combinations off of you,” he narrated.
Bradley has already signed a $5-million contract to face Pacquiao.
He’s going to challenge Pacquiao for the WBO welterweight crown on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
But despite Pacquiao’s stature in the sport, Bradley said he’s not intimidated.
“He’s human. He has two hands and two feet. He’s a man, just like me. He’s not God and I don’t fear him. I won’t fear the crowd and I won’t be intimidated,” said Bradley on RingTV.
Bradley is unbeaten in 29 fights. He won 28 and had 1 no contest. Pacquiao, on the other hand, already has 54 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws.
Bradley believes he was chosen to fight Pacquiao to silence the Filipino boxer’s critics.
Pacquiao has been "less than impressive" in his last two fights -- a unanimous verdict over Shane Mosley and a split-decision victory against Juan Manuel Marquez.
“I think that he finally decided, let's give Bradley a shot and that he will have a live dog in there with him. Freddie knows me and has followed my career. He has heard some good things about me and some bad things about me. Freddie Roach knows its going to be a fight,” Bradley said in a separate report on Boxing Scene.
