Barangay Ginebra center Greg Slaughter has announced he is taking a break from basketball after playing 6 years in the PBA.

“Now that my contract has expired, I’ve decided to take a break to be able to work on myself in all aspects. I may not know what the future holds, but one thing is for sure, the best is yet to come!” said the former Ateneo Blue Eagle in his Instagram post on Saturday.

Slaughter thanked the Gin Kings management, his coach Tim Cone and his teammates for his playing years with the fancied PBA team.

“Six years, four championships, a lifetime of experiences and memories. It’s been a fun ride being with this team. I will forever be proud to have played for Ginebra, a dream of mine that came true when they drafted me in 2013,” said Slaughter.

He did not mention when he plans to return.

Just recently, Barangay Ginebra capped last season’s campaign with the Governors’ Cup title victory over the Meralco Bolts.
