Barangay Ginebra was simply too much for Kia in a 103-77 win in the PBA Philippine Cup at Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday.

All of Ginebra's starters churned out double-digit scoring numbers with Greg Slaughter leading the way.

Slaughter finished with 14 points and 8 rebounds, while LA Tenorio and Japeth Aguilar added 13 each.

Scottie Thompson added 12 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists, while Kevin Ferrer contributed 10 points.

Ginebra led by as many as 29 points, allowing coach Tim Cone to deploy his second stingers in the fourth.

“It has been a struggle for us, but hopefully this is the game that turns us around,” Cone said.

It was a huge bounce-back for Ginebra after a painful 81-78 loss to NLEX. Ginebra is now tied with Phoenix and TNT with 4-4 cards.

After a tight first quarter, Ginebra flashed its fangs in the second to turn a 1-point advantage into a 19-point halftime lead, 54-34.

The game was virtually over in the third when Ginebra broke the game wide open with a 29-point lead.

Kia, now out of contention for the playoffs, gets its 7th defeat in 8 games.

"We get to be a little bit on the same page. We're starting to adjust to the new ways the game is being played and called. We'll get Joe (DeVance) back pretty soon . . . so moving forward is important for us," Cone said.
