Mikey Williams was too hot to handle, Wednesday (Philippine time), at the Shabab Al-Ahli Club, and shot Mighty Sports-Pilipinas to a 91-77 rout of Beirut Sports Club in the 2020 Dubai International Basketball Tournament.
The Filipino-American scored 22 points built on six triples as the Filipinos swept all four of their assignments in the elimination round to stake claim to the top-seed for the quarterfinals.
Williams got together with former NBA players Renaldo Balkman and Andray Blatche with the former finishing with 20 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals and the latter ending with 12 markers, 13 boards, and seven dimes.
Those three keyed the Philippines' 33-point third quarter that turned a one-point halftime deficit into a 69-54 advantage heading into the final frame.
Mighty-Pilipinas now awaits its matchup for the next round which will commence on Thursday (Philippine time).
