Pacquiao says China, Dubai among possible sites for Mayweather rematch

Manny Pacquiao arrived in the country Thursday night, once again playing down the eye injury he sustained in his bout against Adrien Broner over the weekend.

Pacquiao, who beat Broner to remain the world welterweight champion, arrived at NAIA Terminal 1 at 6:22 p.m.

"OK naman, ayos lang (ang mata ko). Gasgas lang, sabi ko 2 to 3 days lang ito," he said.

Pacquiao also shared his thoughts about the burglary at his home in Los Angeles.

"Dapat nanghingi na lang ang mga taong (nagnakaw), bibigyan na lang natin. Pero wala namang importanteng nawala," he said.

When asked about his meet-up with Floyd Mayweather Jr. during an NBA game in Los Angeles, Pacquiao said: "Laging nag-ku-krus ang landas namin. Kung nasaan ako nandoon din siya."

He added that the topic of a rematch was not brought up.

"Nag-say hello pa lang naman ako doon. Hindi kami nag-usap. Siguro in 1 to 2 weeks malalaman natin kung may development with Mayweather," he said.

Pacquiao insisted there is great demand for the rematch, saying several locations have already bid to host the second bout.

“Maraming may gusto ng laban na ito. Maraming bansa na nagbi-bid ng laban. Meron China, Dubai, kung sakaling matuloy ang rematch,” he said.

The fighting senator added that he intends to return to the ring when the Senate goes on a break.

“ ’Yung tinitignan namin na months ng next fight either May, Cinco de Mayo or July. Kasi ’yun kasi ’yung time na wala tayong Senate, trabaho,” Pacquiao said.
