Michael Dasmariñas will be featured in the co-main headliner of a boxing card in Singapore.
The IBO bantamweight title holder will join four other Filipino boxers in Ringstar Boxing’s “Ridhwan-Ambunda II: The Rematch” set at Singapore Indoor Stadium on March 29.
Dasmariñas will defend his crown against countryman Kenny Demecillo in a bout that serves as a title eliminator for the bigger IBF world title.
“Dasmariñas does have a lot of power, and a good chin. As a fighter, Michael has shown that he is vulnerable against a busy fighter but that’s the only real, hard criticism I have about him,” said Ringstar promoter Scott Farrell.
Farrell said Dasmariñas has yet to become a household name, but that is about to change.
“In the past, he hasn’t been recognized or celebrated as much as the other world champions from the Philippines, and often overlooked, but now that he is with Ringstar this is changing rapidly,” he said.
Dasmariñas won the IBO crown in April 2018 by knocking out Karim Guerfi of France just seconds into the fourth round.
