After demolishing American challenger Adrien Broner over the weekend, world welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao should consider fighting Jeff Horn again, the Australian fighter's camp said.
Horn took away Pacquiao's belt in their Brisbane fight in a controversial finish in 2017. His name came up in an ESPN US article posted on the website Tuesday suggesting that Horn should be an option for Pacquiao.
American boxing journalist Dan Rafael said he spoke to Dean Lonergan about the possibility of a sequel and Horn's promoter said Horn's camp would approve.
"A rematch of that fight, either in Las Vegas or Brisbane, should be a requirement by Floyd (Mayweather Jr.), along with the boxing public and broadcaster, to give a possible Mayweather-Pacquiao II the credibility it needs," Lonergan said.
Other names cited by Rafael included either Errol Spence Jr., Mike Garcia, Terrence Crawford or Amir Khan among others.
Pacquiao again made public his desire to face Mayweather for a sequel, following his convincing win over Broner in Pacquiao's Las Vegas return.
When asked point blank by Showtime ringside reporter Jim Gray if he would take up Pacquiao's offer, Mayweather stayed mum.
