MANILA, Philippines – The University of the East (UE) on Monday formally introduced their new head coach, Jack Santiago, to the Red Warriors.

Santiago takes over for Bong Tan, who together with Lawrence Chongson guided the Red Warriors to a 4-10 win-loss record in the UAAP Season 82 men's basketball tournament.

This is Santiago's first head coaching stint, having served as an assistant to Franz Pumaren for several years including the last four with Adamson University.

"Coach Santiago… is looking forward to getting to know the Warriors individually and collectively, to know their skills and attitudes, and to focusing on the team's pressure-defense potential while ensuring that they are flexible, and their respective capabilities are maximized," the official UE Twitter account reported.

Santiago is tasked with bringing the Red Warriors back to the Final 4, a phase they have not reached since Season 72.
