PBA moves Ginebra-NLEX game from Legazpi

MANILA, Philippines – The PBA announced on Wednesday that it is changing the venue of its February 3 game between Barangay Ginebra and NLEX from Legazpi City to the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.

This is due to the current condition of the Mayon Volcano, the league said in a statement.

Albay is currently under a state of calamity and thousands have already evacuated amid the threat of eruption.

The volcano is under Alert Level 3, which means the volcano "has an increased tendency towards hazardous eruption."

According to the PBA, they will hold another game in Legazpi City "as soon as its playing schedule permits."

"(The PBA) wishes the people and the entire province of Albay safety and security in this trying time," it added.

Mayon Volcano last erupted in 2014.
