MANILA, Philippines—Meralco's Allen Durham won the Best Import award on Wednesday, the third time in his PBA career.
The hard-working big man received the trophy ahead of Game 4 of the 2019 PBA Governors' Cup finals between the Bolts and the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings, with Durham's team looking to avoid a 3-1 series deficit.
Durham won the award in the 2016 and 2017 editions of the Governors' Cup. They reached the finals in both years, but lost to Barangay Ginebra each time.
He averaged 30.9 points, 15.2 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game for the Bolts, helping them reach the finals of the Governors' Cup for the third time in four years.
Once again, Durham edged Justin Brownlee for the Best Import trophy.
The Ginebra stalwart normed 29.0 points, 13.6 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game for the Gin Kings.
Durham totaled 1,170 points, 500 coming from stats, 420 from the media, 100 from the players, and 150 from the PBA. Brownlee was in second place with 937 points.
TNT's KJ McDaniels placed third with 635 points, followed by NorthPort's Michael Qualls with 528 points.
