MANILA, Philippines – Fil-Brit Connor Tacagni scored two goals to lift San Beda College to a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over the upset-seeking Lyceum of the Philippines University in the NCAA Season 92 football tournament on Tuesday at the Rizal Football Field

The Red Booters, seeking a sweep of the tournament, found themselves down by a goal after Lyceum's Riel Mark Subebe came through on a set piece in the 15th minute.

The 24-year-old Tacagni, a native of Manchester, England, came to San Beda's rescue as he unleashed a pair of rockets: the first of which came in the 41st minute; and the other – the match-winner – on the 81st.

"I just focused on helping my team win," said Tacagni.

The victory pushed the Red Booters closer to their goal of sweeping their way to the championship. San Beda also won all of their matches in the first round to take the pennant.

They will face off against defending champion Arellano University on Thursday, and De La Salle-College of St. Benilde next week. If the Red Booters hurdle both teams, they will clinch their 22nd seniors football title – the most in the league.

"I have to commend LPU," San Beda coach Michael Pediamonte said after they survived the scare. "They prepared against us well."

In juniors' action, Arellano University shocked defending champion La Salle Greenhills, 1-0, thanks to a 64th minute goal by Kent Talam, allowing them to stay in the title hunt.

The Junior Chiefs will need to beat the Junior Red Booters, winners of the first round pennant, on Thursday and top the Final Four in order to forge a one-game title match against San Beda.

The Junior Red Booters earlier routed Colegio de San Juan de Letran, 5-0, to close in on its 17th juniors crown. Christopher Villanueva netted a hat trick to power San Beda.
