MANILA, Philippines – Mexican champion Jorge Arce is seeking a future fight against Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire Jr., who is due for a title bout against Wilfredo Vazquez on February 4.
“Everyone says that Nonito is invincible, but boxing is about style, and I know I can beat him,” the reigning WBO bantamweight champion said in Boxing Scene.
Arce himself is scheduled to defend his WBO title against Venezuela’s Lorenza Parra on February 18.
The Mexican champion is likely to return to the super bantamweight division just to fight the Filipino Flash.
Donaire, the WBC bantamweight champion, is climbing the super bantamweight class to fight Vazquez.
“I will defend my bantamweight title on February 18 in Durango and then look to face one of the best out there, Nonito Donaire, if he beats Vazquez,” said Arce.
