The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Siesmology (Phivolcs), reminded residents around Taal to stay away from Taal Volcano Island after phreatic eruptions were recorded earlier Saturday.Phivolcs said in an advisory Saturday morning after two minor phreatic activities were recorded at the main crater that volcanic earthquakes, minor ashfall, and lethal accumulations or expulsions of volcanic gas could pose health hazards to those heading to the volcano island itself as well as to the Permanent Danger Zone around it.Residents were advised to stay away from the vicinity of the main crater and of cracks in the area of Daang Kastila.Taal Volcano remains under Alert Level 1.It was found out that despite the ban on going to the volcano island, some fishermen and fish cage caretakers have set up temporary shelters on the lake shores of the volcano, particularly in its northern and western parts.Phivolcs also mentioned that the Civil Aviation Authorities should still prohibit aircraft from flying near or over the volcano because airborne ash and ballistic fragments from the sudden volcanic activity could pose a danger to aviation.Meanwhile, officials of the towns surrounding Taal Volcano and Taal Lake have also advised constituents to stay calm and to watch out for advisories from the local governments.In similar reminders, Tanauan City Mayor Sonny Perez Collantes, Talisay Mayor Nestor Natanauan, Lemery Mayor Ian Kenneth Alilio, San Nicolas Mayor Lester de Sagun, and Agoncillo Mayor Cinderella Reyes said that residents should not panic and just follow the advisories of the LGUs in case Taal Volcano&#39;s activity intensifies.The local government units , through their respective MDRRMOs, are also monitoring the situation of Taal Volcano, as well as the advisories sent by Phivolcs.Coast Guard Sub-Station personnel in the towns of Talisay and San Nicolas, as well as Bureau of Fire Protection personnel, have also been deployed to monitor the volcano&#39;s activity. &mdash; Report from Ronilo Dagos, ABS-CBN News
