Normandy marks 79th D-Day anniversary

Guests including President of Best Foundation Donnie Edwards, US Senator Jerry Moran, US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff US General Mark A Milley, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Colleville-sur-Mer Mayor Patrick Thomines watch as French elite acrobatic flying team "Patrouille de France" (PAF) fly over during a ceremony at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, as part of the 79th anniversary of the World War II "D-Day" Normandy landings, in Colleville-sur-Mer, Normandy, on Tuesday. The operation, the largest land, sea, and air invasion ever attempted, saw the Allies invade Axis-held Western Europe and helped bring the end of World War II less than a year later.
