VANCOUVER – Twelve-year-old singer-songwriter Ty Waters is giving love this Christmas day through the release of his song, “Everything I want for Christmas.”
“It’s about spending time with my family, friends, eating really good food and listening to awesome music,” said Waters.
Three-time Grammy award winner Chin Injeti co-wrote and produced the song.
“The song just wants to talk about the important things at Christmas, more than presents, more than getting caught up in the commercial spirit,” said Injeti.
Part of the proceeds will go to Music Heals, a non-profit organization that raises money and awareness for music therapy programs across Canada.
Waters admitted that music helped him a lot during his younger years.
“People would bully me and when I go home, I would play the drums,” he shared. “Music just made me more calm.”
Waters and his family, who were in the United States for two Christmases, are looking forward to spending the season here this year.
Waters will perform his song to celebrate the arrival of the Canadian pacific holiday train in one of its stops.
His song is available in iTunes and Spotify.
