15 Pinoy seamen safe in South Korea oil tanker explosion

MANILA - Fifteen Filipino crewmen of an oil tanker that exploded in Ulsan, South Korea over the weekend are safe, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Tuesday.

The DFA, in a statement, said the Filipino seafarers were evacuated together with other crew members of the Stolt Groenland, a 25,000-tonne, Cayman Island-flagged oil tanker.

The blast injured 10 people, most of whom were workers at the terminal, have been wounded so far, a fire official said. Nine of them were South Korean, including one in a critical condition, and the other was from India.
