A Filipino-American man accused of terrorism entered a not guilty plea during his arraignment in a Los Angeles Federal Court Friday morning.
Mark Steven Domingo was indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly providing material support to terrorists and attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction.
The charges carry a maximum life sentence in prison.
Domingo appeared in court dressed in a white prison jumpsuit with facial hair grown out and sporting two long braids.
There did not seem to be any family members in the courtroom as he made his brief appearance.
The 26-year-old is scheduled to return to court on July 23.
Federal agents say he had been planning a violent jihad since March with a Long Beach rally last April as his intended target.
He was arrested last month after he bought fake explosives from an undercover agent.
