MANILA- Ninety-eight Filipinos in Malaysia have recovered from COVID-19 out of the 115 who tested positive for the virus, Philippine Ambassador Charles Jose said Monday.

The 17 others are still undergoing treatment, the envoy added.

"Out of this 115 cases, 98 na po sa kanila ang na-discharge, magaling na po sila at 17 na lamang po ang nag-u-undergo ng treatment. Pero lahat pong itong 115 ay nasa—hanggang ngayon po ay nasa Malaysia pa," Jose said in a virtual press briefing.

The envoy said the infections were linked to a Tabligh gathering in Selangor from late February to early March.

As of Sunday, the Department of Foreign Affairs said 2,523 Filipinos in other countries have tested positive for COVID-19. Of those, 294 have died while 879 recovered.
