DFA: Number of COVID-19 positive Filipinos abroad now at 2,523

MANILA-- One more overseas Filipino tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.

This brings the total of overseas infections among Filipinos to 2,523 as of Sunday, May 24.

Three more Filipinos died of the illness, with the total deaths now at 294.

Meanwhile, the number of Filipino migrants who recovered from COVID-19 is up by 1 to 879, the DFA added.

To date, some 1,350 Filipino patients are undergoing treatment for COVID-19, broken down as follows by regions: 129 in the Asia-Pacific, 458 in Europe, 565 in the Middle East and Africa and 198 in the Americas.

In the Philippines, COVID-19 has so far infected 14,035 people, of whom 868 died while 3,249 recovered.
