MANILA - Eleven Filipinos were rescued and are scheduled for repatriation from conflict-stricken Tripoli, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Thursday.

The Filipinos, among them two minors, are on their way to Tunis where they will be repatriated by the DFA and the labor department, according to the Philippine embassy's charge d'affaires in Libya.

In total, 55 out of some 1,000 Filipinos have been evacuated from the Libyan capital since fighting broke out between the eastern Libyan National Army (LNA) and government forces on April 4.

The DFA earlier raised Alert Level IV in Libya which implements a mandatory evacuation of Filipinos.
