MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Friday reported no new COVID-19 deaths among Filipinos abroad for the second consecutive day.
In a statement, the agency also said the number of those who recovered from COVID-19 is up by 15 to 789.
“Today is the second consecutive day of no recorded fatalities and third consecutive day of more recoveries than new confirmed cases among Filipinos abroad as reported by our Foreign Service Posts,” the DFA said.
The total tally of overseas infections among Filipino nationals stood at 2,331.
“The DFA, through its Embassies and Consulates, remains committed to continuously monitoring the status of our nationals abroad and providing assistance, whenever possible, to ensure their welfare as we continue to battle against COVID-19,” the agency said.
To date, some 1,273 Filipino patients abroad are undergoing treatment for COVID-19, broken down as follows by region: 132 in the Asia Pacific, 390 in Europe, 559 in the Middle East and Africa, and 192 in the Americas.
In the Philippines, the number of COVID-19 cases has breached the 12,000-mark on Friday.
