(UPDATED) A 48-year-old Filipina visiting San Jose, California died in a hit-and-run incident last week.

According to preliminary police investigation, Marianne "Dred" Gabriel Natividad was crossing east across Nieman Boulevard north of Laddie Way, on the morning of April 11, when she was struck by a light-colored 2000 Toyota 4runner.

The driver, identified as 65-year old San Jose resident Delilah Paray, reportedly stopped, got out of her car and approached Natividad who was still alive.

But instead of calling for help, Paray reportedly went back to her car and drove away.

Police said other vehicles may have ran over the victim after she was left behind. The Coroner's Office said she eventually died from her injuries.

Paray, who was located parked on a nearby street, has since been arrested.

A GoFundMe account dedicated to raise funds to bring Natividad's remains back to the Philippines has so far generated more than $10,000.
