At least seven people died and 28 others were injured in a fire that broke out Thursday in a large office tower in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka, police said.
A number of people jumped out of the burning FR Tower in a desperate bid to escape the blaze, which broke out around 1 p.m., witnesses said.
A total of 17 firefighting units were working to extinguish the fire at the building located in Dhaka's commercial district. The navy and air force also joined in the rescue operation.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known, officials said.
