6 more Filipinos in Hong Kong test positive for COVID-19

MANILA - Six more Filipinos in Hong Kong tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to the Philippine consulate in the special administrative region.

In a statement, the Philippine Consulate in Hong Kong said health officials of the Chinese territory confirmed the diagnosis. 

According to the consulate, there are now 13 Filipinos undergoing treatment in various hospitals in Hong Kong.

"The Philippine Consulate General is extending all necessary assistance to them," it assured.

Filipinos in Hong Kong were strongly urged to stay at home "whenever possible."

"If there is a need to go out . . . make sure to avoid crowded places and practice social distancing," the consulate said.


Hong Kong has confirmed more than 300 COVID-19 cases with four deaths, as of March 23. -- With a report from Jan Yumul, ABS-CBN News
